The Story

This is a 2009 SAAB 9-3 SportCombi with a 6-speed manual, Cross-wheel drive and the B207R turbo 2.0 4cyl.

This car is a true unicorn estimated at only 4 units made in total for the Canadian market.

Bought it from its first owner, a head of engineering at a popular toronto Hotel firm.

Now it has been restored and returned to its original state, it will remain as a true display of rarity.

BACKSTORY:

I had been dreaming of having a nice SAAB for as long as I could remember (being the outcast at school, of course) and on my 16th birthday, I was set on find a AWD manual transmission one. A nice v6 XWD 6-speed Sedan was for sale. I drove over 3 hours to go an see it. After getting a ride in it, I was blown away and was permanently infected with the SAAB virus, if you will. Too bad my parents declined that car because it was (and I am quoting now) "Too fast''! Well at least they were willing to settle on a 4 cylinder model!

From that day on, the search was on for what was possibly the hardest variant to find of the 9-3 that ever went into production: a 6-speed manual AWD 2.0T. It took the better part of a year, but this Gem of a car came up for sale just a few weeks before my 17th birthday.

It was perfect! and too hard to pass up, my parents begrudgingly let me take this one home.

Ever since it has been a roller coaster ride of getting the absolute humongous laundry list of big problems and little problems fixed, from a glove box door that just fell to the floor to an entire prop-shaft missing! and a bunch in between.
